Week ten

Another week has passed since I’ve flown to the other side of the world, and it still never ceases to amaze me how fast time flies. My tenth week was an easier one due to no after-school practice. For the varsity volleyball team, it was the opposite because the girls competed in the Conference tournament to qualify for State. So the coaches were busy working with them, and JV got the week off. That way, I had more time to spare. And I spent most of it with my friends and host family.

On Saturday, I had a sleepover with a friend, who then took me to a Pumpkin patch with her family on Sunday. Of course, I had to experience it and try all the kids’ activities – corn maze, bouncing pillow, zip lines, and all the other fall-themed things – and I enjoyed it like a little child. I even bought a mini pumpkin to put in my room as decoration!

Even the schooldays were fun this week because, in the afternoons, I hung out with some of my friends. Not that we’ve anything super exciting, but simply spending time together was enough for us to have fun. Friday was the only day we did more than sit in someone’s room (or car). Friday nights are for football. Whereas this game wasn’t so far away, I went. The student section was phenomenal. Everyone looked like they were having the time of their lives, including the school principal, who joined us in cheering for the team. The game was thrilling but long. We even got into a second overtime, and meanwhile, we were all slightly freezing, but in the end, believe it or not, we won. 😀
